Some kind words from people I have had the honour of supporting.

When looking for a Celebrant for the Celebration of Life of a much loved family member, we wanted someone who could both engage with her family and friends, but equally be able to embody just who that person was.  She was a very unique person and its hard to explain that to a stranger who has never met her.

Fortunately we tasked Helen with this responsibility, and she absolutely took on the challenge and helped us through the process.  She looked at pictures of her which helped understand the kind of life she had led, her interests, her life’s adventures and how different family and friends had interacted with that life. Helen then spent a long time with us discussing the eulogy, and subtly coaxed out of us what we wanted to say and how we wanted to say it. At the end of the process we felt Helen had understood who she was and, equally important, how she would want to be remembered. Up until the final day she worked with us in tweaking what would be said.

Helen became involved in how the ceremony would be conducted and took away a lot of the organisation from us. For example we didn’t share her love of classical music, but Helen sourced just the right pieces. She made the day so special and we will always be grateful to her for this.  Subsequently Helen gifted us a lovely folder including the text for the eulogy.

As a family we would like to thank Helen and unconditionally recommend her to anyone.

My family recently went to a memorial service for my cousin Robert officiated by Helen of Helen Martin Celebrant in his own home. The service was beautifully conducted by Helen with empathy and knowledge of Robert and of his family. She asked family members for their memories of Robert and made the whole service very personal, she had put a lot of thought into the service adding humour aswell as sadness for his passing.

We had the service in the house but then we gathered in the garden and with a few more words from Helen, the immediate family scattered his ashes along with his wife Doreen who had died a few years previously, they could be together again.

It was all very moving and personal. I would highly recommend Helen as a celebrant for any official occasion.

Helen made our wedding day truly unforgettable. From the very beginning, she created a completely personalised experience that reflected us perfectly. In our first meeting, she took the time to really listen to our vision and requests, and from there, guided us with thoughtful suggestions and gentle expertise.

The ceremony she created was not only bespoke, but also deeply meaningful and beautifully written. Helen was attentive throughout the entire process—making adjustments where needed, always with care, professionalism, and our wishes at the heart of every decision. She has such a calm, personable, and reliable presence, which made us feel completely at ease on the day. The ceremony was conducted with grace and warmth, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Helen’s thoughtful touches extended beyond the ceremony too, as she beautifully presented everything to us afterwards—a truly special keepsake.

Thank you, Helen, for bringing our perfect ceremony to life. Your dedication, talent, and kindness meant the world to us.

I was so grateful to have Helen as the celebrant for my father-in-law’s funeral. She was professional, compassionate, and struck exactly the right tone throughout the service. She took the time to listen and really captured his life and character beautifully. On a difficult day, her calm presence and thoughtful delivery made everything feel personal and respectful. She was also a great support to me, as I was nervous about speaking at the service, and her encouragement gave me the confidence I needed. I can’t thank her enough and would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone in need of a celebrant.

Having never been in the position of arranging a funeral before I felt somewhat overwhelmed at the prospect of supporting my Mum to organise my Dad's. But Helen was just incredible, her knowledge, support, kindness and care throughout the whole process was just brilliant. From Helen's sensitivity during the family meeting to the writing and reading of a eulogy that truly celebrated Dad's life - it was a great send off! Helen made us all feel she really knew Dad and understood how we wanted the service to be - a small personal family service that celebrated a very special chap. Thanks again Helen - we would highly recommend your celebrant services, the time you gave so willingly and the thought you put into the event was very much appreciated.
